Operating principle
Three principles coexist: wrap-around packing, which forms the case around the lot from a flat cut; packing in pre-formed American-style cases, from the top (top-load) or side (side-load); and robotic packing, where a pick & pack gripper grabs and places the products.
Integration
A grouping system prepares the batch upstream; the case packer can integrate case forming, loading, and sealing with glue or adhesive on the same equipment, then feed the palletizer. A case erector and a case sealer can also be placed on either side.
Options & configuration
Pneumatic, mechanical or robotic gripping (2, 3, 6 axes or Scara), processing of wrap-around, American and tray boxes, Ready-to-Sell (RTS) packaging, rapid and automatic format change, glue closure or banding.

What is the difference between wrap-around checkout and American-style checkout?
In wrap-around packaging, the box is formed around the contents from a flat die-cut, which minimizes cardboard and improves presentation. American-style boxes are pre-formed and then filled from the top or side.
Top or side entry: how to choose?
Top loading is suitable for stable products placed vertically; side loading facilitates the insertion of batches pushed horizontally. The choice depends on the product, the crate, and the required throughput.
What products can be paid for?
Bottles, cans, flasks, jars, cases, bags and cartons, in batches grouped according to a defined pattern.
Does the cashier also form the cash register?
Yes. Many case packers integrate forming and sealing with glue or adhesive on a single piece of equipment.
What is the difference between this and a shrink wrapper?
The shrink wrapper groups the products under film (with or without a tray), while the case packer places them in a crate or a cardboard tray.
