Crimping machine

The crimping machine closes a container by attaching a metal cap or lid through metal deformation. It ensures an airtight and tamper-evident seal in primary packaging, after filling. It covers two main operations: crimping an aluminum cap onto the neck of a bottle or flask, and double-crimping a base or lid onto a metal can.

Features

Operating principle

For capsules, threading and crimping rollers form the aluminum shell directly onto the neck, creating the thread and the ROPP-type tamper-evident strip. For cans, a crimping head rolls the edge of the body and the lid together to create a double, airtight crimp.

Integration

The seamer is used in semi-automatic or automatic stations, with a rotating box or rotating head, alone or in line after filling, up to the monobloc for boxes.

Options & configuration

Round boxes with diameters from 52.5 to 153 mm, production rates from a few hundred units per hour in semi-automatic systems up to several tens of thousands for ROPP caps. Bottoms with or without easy opening, reinforced clinching for overflowing products, vacuum crimping, fitting of valves or pumps to bottles and aerosols, format change assisted by touchscreen.
