For the 25th anniversary of the CFIA Rennes, YASKAWA France was present at its stand from March 8 to 10 to present its products and solutions in robotics, cobotics and motion control specially dedicated to agri-food applications such as packaging, pick & place and palletizing.
A powerful and efficient collaborative robot serving the agri-food sector
At the trade show, Yaskawa presented the MOTOMAN HC20DTP from the HC series. This cobot has a payload capacity of up to 20 kg and covers a working range of 1,900 mm. These features offer great flexibility for use in a variety of applications, particularly for end-of-line operations such as palletizing large cartons, crates, or other stackable goods.
Yaskawa equips all of its HC collaborative robots with a wrist-mounted clamp, which has become virtually standard in the cobot world, allowing for easy mechanical connection of peripherals such as grippers. Yaskawa robots offer the advantage of an internal cable management system (Ethernet, I/O, air), eliminating the need for external cables. Each collaborative robot model features convenient wrist-mounted buttons to facilitate robot learning through hand guidance, replacing the need to manually record each position on the programming unit. Thanks to optimized cable routing, the movement ranges of each axis have been extended to increase the application flexibility of the collaborative robots.
The design of the HC20DTP and the entire MOTOMAN HC series of cobots emphasizes exceptionally user-friendly operation. The robot arm can be guided and programmed directly by hand – DT stands for "Direct Teach" and P for "Plug & Play." This results in time savings and simplified robot program creation. The MOTOMAN HC20DTP can also be easily programmed and used in conjunction with the user-friendly and modern "Smart Pendant" programming unit, which features a touchscreen tablet, or with the conventional "Teach Pendant" manual unit.
A range of robots designed with food-grade grease to meet hygiene standards
Yaskawa's MOTOMAN GP series of 6-axis material handling robots currently includes more than 30 models, ranging from the MOTOMAN GP4 to the MOTOMAN GP600, offering payload capacities of up to 4 kg and 600 kg, respectively. These general-purpose robots are distinguished by numerous strengths: acceleration, axial speeds, repeatability accuracy, cycle time, and design. Furthermore, this series is controlled by the latest generation MOTOMAN YRC1000 control cabinet, one of the most compact in its class on the market, enabling Yaskawa's MOTOMAN robots to achieve optimal trajectory and movement performance.
Within the MOTOMAN GP series, an "FGG" range – for "Food Grade Grease" – has been specifically developed for industrial food processing applications to meet the sector's stringent hygiene standards thanks to its IP67 protection rating. Currently, the range comprises five models – GP7 FGG, GP8 FGG, GP12 FGG, GP25 FGG, and GP50 FGG – all constructed entirely with food-grade grease certified as non-toxic in the event of accidental contact with food. These waterproof robots also feature a drip-proof coating to prevent stagnant water and thus the growth of bacteria.
The MOTOMAN GP7 FGG, presented at the show, is the most compact and fastest food-grade grease handling robot in the range. It has a payload capacity of up to 7 kg, a working radius of 927 mm, and its design, adapted to food industry regulations, makes it an ideal solution, particularly for use in packaging applications.
