This new equipment developed by MG Tech allows for the formation and volumetric assembly of folding cartons (also known as trundle boxes, American-style boxes, RSC cases, moving boxes, from the FEFCO 200 family) by opening and closing the base of the carton. The carton is then ready for packaging various products.

ERGONOMIC EQUIPMENT
The machines are managed by a controller, which allows the management of the Brushless motors and all the actuators present in the former and the implementation of solutions for exchanges, feedback on the operation of the machine and production.
The case erector features a 12" touchscreen display (compared to the usual 7"), providing greater operator comfort. Tutorials and videos are available to assist and guide users through maintenance and format changes.
The entire machine has been designed to be ergonomic and safe, including full-height access doors, a magazine located 700 mm from the ground (ideal for transferring cardboard cutouts from a pallet), cutout presence sensors, and total operator safety thanks to magazine protection by bellows and rollers.
IMPECCABLE VOLUME SETTING OF THE CASH BOXES
“ No matter how good the cardboard is, once formed, the box must be operational. That’s why, when designing the specifications for our new American-style box former, we placed great emphasis on the quality of the box forming and the control of their squareness, ” says Serge Pitois, product manager at MG Tech.
The positive opening of the boxes by opposing suction cups makes it possible both to guarantee the opening of all box formats (even square bases) and to avoid the risk of putting into a wallet.
MG Tech also offers positive opening of the outer flaps to facilitate closing the bottom of the case. This also ensures proper volumetric filling of cases with shallow cutouts, even with cases of less-than-perfect quality.
The new American-style case former features a squaring and shaping function before the case base. This function is essential to ensure complete case closure (no gaps between the flaps), a rectangular case cross-section, and thus facilitate palletizing operations.
SIMPLE AND QUICK FORMAT CHANGES
There are three levels of format change on this new machine: manual, controlled, and semi-automatic. Guidance via the HMI display is available through tutorials and videos on the screen.

A CONNECTED AND COMMUNICATING CASE FORMER
Modern HMI interfaces use OPCUA connectivity. This flexible, reliable, and secure communication protocol allows different machines to communicate with each other (in the case of complete lines), enables access to machine parameters by manufacturers and the builder, even remotely, and facilitates the planning of preventive maintenance operations.
The case erector uses a hot melt gluing process. It is available in several sizes (small, medium, large) depending on the dimensions of the cases. It is also offered in several versions (standard, speed, hi-speed) depending on the desired production rates.
