Leak analyzer

The leak analyzer checks the airtightness of packaging and detects micro-leaks that compromise product preservation. It verifies the integrity of the seal and lid at the end of the primary packaging process. By guaranteeing airtightness, it preserves the protective atmosphere of the packaging, ensures the expiration date, and reduces both waste and customer complaints.

Features

Operating principle

The inspection relies on two complementary approaches: headspace gas analysis, which measures the oxygen or carbon dioxide levels inside a package under a protective atmosphere, and micro-leak detection, which identifies leaks using tracer gas or pressure variations. The measurement is non-destructive and performed in a dry environment, eliminating any risk of bacterial growth.

Integration

The analyzer can be used in a laboratory setting or integrated into an inline system after capping or sealing. USB and Ethernet connectivity allows for connection to a production line.

Options & configuration

Destructive or non-destructive testing, oxygen and carbon dioxide measurement, automatic needle cleaning, consumable-free operation, compliance with leak test standards (ISO 17678, ASTM F1140, ASTM F2054, DIN 55508-1).

Benefits

Guarantee of the packaging's watertightness and integrity.
Preservation of the protective atmosphere and shelf life.
Non-destructive and dry method, with no risk of contamination.
No consumables required, which significantly reduces operating costs.
Traceability of controls and reduction of waste and complaints.

FAQ.

Destructive testing damages the tested packaging to measure its resistance; non-destructive testing verifies the seal without altering the product, which can then enter the sales circuit.
This involves measuring the gases contained within the packaging, usually oxygen and carbon dioxide. It verifies that the protective atmosphere is compliant and that no leaks have compromised it.
A micro-leak allows oxygen to enter, which breaks the protective atmosphere, accelerates the deterioration of the product and shortens its shelf life.
Both. It exists as a laboratory instrument for sampling control and in a line-connected version for production control.
Several reference standards apply depending on the method, including ISO 17678 and the ASTM F1140, ASTM F2054 and DIN 55508-1 standards.
