iwis designs and manufactures precision chains and transmission and conveying systems. Its product range includes precision roller chains, conveyor chains, special and close-link chains, sprockets, as well as lubrication, greasing, and chain elongation monitoring systems. These components are used in machine construction, packaging, printing, food processing, and continuous material handling.

Founded in 1916 and now run by the fourth generation of the Winklhofer family, iwis is a German family business with over a century of expertise in chain technology. The group employs 1,900 people at 27 locations worldwide and is organized into three divisions: Drive Systems, Mobility Systems, and Smart Connectivity. Its industrial division develops standard and custom chains, including maintenance-free and corrosion-resistant options, complemented by connected solutions such as the chain condition monitoring system and the VARIACTO variable speed drive.
