The GEPPIA village, with more than 600 m2, brought together its equipment members and partners for the 24th edition focused on the future… the post-Covid-19 era.
Following the global coronavirus pandemic, the events industry has been severely impacted. Many trade shows in our sector have been postponed or even cancelled. The CFIA trade show in Rennes was no exception in 2020, and it was a saga of postponements that unfortunately ended in cancellation just days before the show. Unprecedented, sadly!
Looking back on 2020: the saga of postponements and the cancellation of CFIA Rennes
As a reminder, here are the rescheduled/cancelled dates for this 24th edition of the trade show, which was scheduled and then cancelled in 2020.
Originally scheduled for March 10-12, 2020 in Rennes, its historical stronghold, GL-Events has successively announced:
- March 2, 2020: The trade fair has been postponed to May 26-27-28, 2020 in Rennes.
- April 16, 2020: the postponement of the trade fair to September 29-30 and October 1, in Nantes
- June 11, 2020: CFIA returns to Rennes, on the same dates, September 29-30 and October 1.CFIA 2021 is announced for June 8, 9 & 10, 2021 (replacing the traditional March date).
- September 24, 2020: The 2020 CFIA in Rennes is cancelled. The next event is scheduled for June 8-9-10, 2021.
- May 4, 2021: CFIA is postponed by one day to correspond to the opening date authorized by the Fairs and Exhibitions.
The CFIA therefore had the opportunity to take place on June 9-10-11, 2021 at the Rennes Airport Exhibition Park, in the heart of the leading European agri-food region.
The 24th edition of the trade show
This reunion at the highly anticipated 24th edition was unique due to the context and the new challenges to be addressed. To this end, the trade show organizer had defined seven commitments to support this transition, and Geppia supported this approach to ensure visitor attendance

The show's offering has been adapted to the Covid-19 news and numerous health precautions have been put in place to ensure everyone's health, such as large-scale screening at the entrance to the show (1000 tests/hour).

The GEPPIA Village – Hall 10: Solutions for production lines from French machine manufacturers
GEPPIA brings together the key players in a Process and Packaging production line! Visitors were able to take advantage of this opportunity to discuss their issues with them.
In hall 10, visitors were able to discover the solutions of GEPPIA members on the GEPPIA Village, spread over more than 600m2!
