Doubling of production rates
It was to address issues of production rates and quality that a paper manufacturer called upon RECMI Industrie.
The stacking and palletizing of reams of paper coming out of the cutter, which until then had been done manually by operators, did not allow them to keep up with the machine's pace.
RECMI Industrie has therefore developed a "tailor-made" solution that allows for a doubling of production rates.
This objective has been achieved:
- by removing limitations related to the arduousness of the task (automation)
- by avoiding machine stops that generate disturbances in the stacking.
Furthermore, musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) among operators have been considerably reduced.
A principle of operation that guarantees stacking quality
Paper is a delicate product, so the challenge was twofold: to increase the production rate while preserving the product.
The stacking system designed by RECMI Industrie is integrated into the upstream machine and retains its operating mode. Digitally controlled stacking ensures continuous flow, protecting the products and resulting in very high stacking quality.
Once assembled, the stacks are retrieved by a palletizing robot equipped with a specific gripper and placed on a pallet. When the pallet is full, it is automatically removed and replaced with an empty one.
The cell can handle different formats and operate in single or dual flow. It also has integrated production control, which allows for sample collection.
