This family-owned SME, based in Vire, Normandy, processes 150 tons of meat daily into dog and cat food. Faced with the natural wear and tear of its 20-year-old packaging machines, it was looking for an alternative to purchasing new components, one that could minimize production downtime and ensure the longevity of its equipment.
A concrete solution to performance and sustainability challenges
In a context of environmental pressure and supply chain disruptions, Bosch Rexroth supports manufacturers with REMAN, its remanufacturing offering. This is an industrialized reconditioning process that goes far beyond simple repair. It includes comprehensive inspection, preventive replacement of wear parts, and technological upgrades where possible.
This solution is fully in line with the Bosch Group's circular economy strategy, reconciling industrial performance and reducing environmental impact.
Modernize without replacing
The intervention at Normandise Pet Food involved 25 motors and drive units, which were refurbished at the Bosch Rexroth competence center. Meanwhile, identical replacement components ensured uninterrupted production. The entire process resulted in only 15 minutes of downtime during installation and delivered 50% cost savings compared with a complete replacement.
