A new hall called "the Cube"
At the heart of the project is a 1200 m² assembly hall, nicknamed "the Cube" because of its shape. With its 13.5-meter high ceilings and overhead cranes, it houses the largest machines for end-of-process operations: assembly, adjustments, testing, and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) conducted in the presence of customers. This extension complements an initial 1800 m² expansion completed in 2019. The industrial site now covers 6500 m².
The operation also allowed for a complete rethinking of production flows. Cetec reorganized them according to a linear logic, from machining to final testing, in order to gain efficiency.
1.2 million euros allocated to equipment
Nearly €1.2 million has been invested in new industrial equipment. This includes a Trumpf laser cutting machine, a Somab four-axis machining center, and an electromagnetic paint booth. In line with its commitment to energy efficiency, Cetec has also equipped the Cube building with a 1,000 m² photovoltaic roof. A solar carport will soon be added, with the goal of achieving 60% energy self-sufficiency for the site.
A dynamic driven by exports and innovation
With a turnover of €17 million and around one hundred employees, Cetec designs and manufactures its machines from start to finish. Historically based in the pet food sector, which still represents 40% of its business, the company has diversified into infant nutrition, seeds, sugar, and chemicals. It boasts over 3,000 machines installed worldwide and files one or two patents each year. Its latest innovations, such as the Just'In Bag and the Slimbagger, reduce the consumption of packaging materials, an advantage the company is highlighting in light of the upcoming PPWR regulation.
A fine illustration of this continuity: the founders Michel and Jean-Claude Labrue, aged 86 and 88, were present to inaugurate the extension alongside Régis Labrue, son of Michel and current CEO.
